Sue Tort has been a writer for nearly twenty years. She has published a romance novel 'What I Did On My Wedding Night' and two novels in her Mumford Mystery series, 'Witness a Killing' and 'Friends Lovers Killers.' She describes her crime novels as 'cosy crime' sprinkled with an element of soap opera as her characters struggle with their lives and with each other.
In her crime novels Sue tends to keep descriptions of physical violence to a minimum as she focuses on the mystery and the aftermath of a death on the people around a victim, although she does tend to include an element of humour in her writing.
Sue lives in the East of England, the flatness of the fens a complete contrast to the Swiss landscape where her mother was from and where she spent time as a child. She loves animals, her garden and generally being outdoors in nature.
Sue has a habit of buying random musical instruments at auction in the hope that one day she will have the patience to sit down and learn to play each and every one of them to a high standard (it is no coincidence that two of her characters are musicians!). She plays piano (badly) the saxophone (really badly), and the cello (really, really badly!).
Sue also writes satire and non-fiction, she is a member of the CWA and the ALLi.
